WriterMorph Get WriterMorph for Mac

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 1, 2026

WriterMorph is built so that your writing stays on your Mac. In short: the app contains no AI, collects no personal data, does not track you and never sends your writing to us or anyone else.

The WriterMorph app

Your projects

Projects, manuscripts, notes, images and settings are stored on your Mac in a folder you choose, as .wmorph files. We have no access to them.

No AI, no analytics, no account

The app contains no AI features, no analytics, no advertising and no telemetry code, and it needs no account. Your writing is never used to train anything.

iCloud

If you keep projects in iCloud Drive or turn on iCloud sync, Apple stores and syncs those files under Apple's privacy policy. We cannot see them.

AI connections you set up yourself

Settings › AI Connections is off by default. Only if you turn it on can AI apps that you run on your own Mac (such as Claude Code or Codex) read the project that is open, and only if you also allow changes can they change it. The connection accepts requests only from your Mac and requires a private key. What those apps send to their own services is covered by their providers' policies; WriterMorph sends nothing anywhere itself.

Network access

The app connects to the internet only when you ask it to, for example to download an image from an address you paste, or to open a link. Those requests go straight to the website you chose.

Purchases

Trials and purchases go through the Mac App Store. Apple shares only anonymous sales reports with developers. We never see your name, Apple Account or payment details.

Crash reports

If you opted in to share analytics with app developers in macOS, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. You control this in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
