A first look at Live Pages

A Labs preview in WriterMorph 1.0. Turn an HTML page into a small app that keeps its own data, reads your cards and changes them only after you allow it.

The Character Database Live Page, filled from The Salt Archive's character cards

Most writing apps let you look at your notes. A Live Page lets your notes do something. It is an HTML tab inside your project that works like a small app: it keeps its own data, reads your cards and word counts, and can even change cards, once you have said yes.

Live Pages are a preview in WriterMorph 1.0. Turn them on in Settings › Labs.

Two pages to start with

Character Database lists every character card in your project. Click Add and the character comes in with the name, role, age and description from the card, kept in sync with it. Add traits, a photo, files and links, and see the scenes whose synopsis mentions them.

Writing Dashboard shows the words you wrote today against your daily goal, your streak, the book's total against a target, an estimated finish date, the last 14 days and the words in every scene.

You stay in charge

A page asks before it changes anything. The first time it tries, WriterMorph says exactly what it wants to do and that every change can be undone, and you choose Allow or Don't Allow. You can change your mind later in the page's File menu.

WriterMorph asks: Allow this page to change your cards?

Live Pages have no internet access, and a web link opens only after you confirm. An ordinary HTML page can't read your project at all.

Make your own

Start from New ▾ › Live Page ▸ in the sidebar, or let Claude Code or Codex build one for you through AI Connections. When a page works the way you like, save it as a template. The help article covers the details.
